There are some clouds that seem to be threat­en­ing snow hov­er­ing about this morn­ing. Yes­ter­day the snow was melt­ing, the sun was warm and the air was balmy. You never know what to ex­pect with Al­berta weather, but spring be­gins on March 20. Hang in there.

Deep­est sym­pa­thy of the Delia Com­mu­nity goes out to the Mar­shall fam­i­lies on the pass­ing of Nick Mar­shall in the Drumheller hos­pi­tal last Fri­day. Ser­vices have not been an­nounced at this time. Sin­cere con­do­lences to all of Nick’s fam­ily and friends at this very sad time.

Re­mem­ber the Delia Elks break­fast buf­fet at the Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on Sun­day, March 12, from nine un­til noon. This is the same day that Day­light Sav­ing Time starts so be sure to “spring for­ward” the night be­fore, or you will be late for break­fast.

The En­di­ang Floor Curl­ing Club held a “hard times” fun bon­spiel in En­di­ang on Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 27. Curlers from Delia who par­tic­i­pated were Dave and Carol Sis­ley, Char­lie Thomp­son, Joan Mor­ri­son and Eva Nielsen. Teams from Halkirk, Cas­tor, Stet­tler, Big Val­ley, Round Hill, Hanna, etc took part in the spiel. Joan Mor­ri­son from Delia won first place in the “hard times” cos­tume event. Every­one came home with a prize and mem­o­ries of a fun time. Thanks En­di­ang for the fun day and that won­der­ful En­di­ang hos­pi­tal­ity that is un­matched any­where!

Re­mem­ber to get your tick­ets for the Richard and Deb­o­rah Popovich show at the Delia Drop In Cen­tre on Wed­nes­day, April 12, at 2 in the af­ter­noon. The show fea­tures com­edy and mu­sic from the 50, 60 and 70’s. Cof­fee and re­fresh­ments will fol­low the show. You can get your tick­ets from any mem­ber of the Cen­tre.

The gen­eral meet­ing of the Drop In Cen­tre is on Thurs­day, March 9 at 10 a.m. It’s cof­fee time ev­ery Tues­day and Thurs­day morn­ing, start­ing at 9, at the Delia Drop In Cen­tre. Come for cof­fee and a visit with your neigh­bors.

The Delia Li­brary is host­ing a First Na­tions, Inuit, and Metis Trav­el­ling Dis­play in March at the li­brary. This is a dis­play cre­ated by the Marigold li­brary sys­tem to help ex­pose peo­ple from all cul­tures to First Na­tions, Inuit and Metis con­tent. Be sure to stop by and have a look.

On March 8 the li­brary is host­ing an in­for­ma­tion, iden­tity theft, and Law video­con­fer­ence from 12 – 1 p.m. On March 15 from 12 to 1 p.m., a video con­cern­ing an En­dur­ing Power of At­tor­ney, A per­sonal Di­rec­tive, A Will, a Le­gal Tool­kit Video­con­fer­ence will lows: Se­nior Pre­sen­ta­tions Dun­calf. Ju­nior Pre­sen­ta­tions - Cole Alderdice. Se­nior Speak­ing - Carter Reed. In­ter­me­di­ate Speak­ing- 1st Tessa Reed, 2nd Cam­ryn McDougald, 3rd Cole Mor­lock, 4th De­laney McDougald. Ju­nior Speak­ing- 1st - Jared Elli Mc- Dougald, 2nd Carson Mor­lock. We’d like to thank the Delia United Church for let­ting us host the event there. Our mem­bers are busy hal­ter­ing and get­ting their calves in shape for our clubs mini-show day at 3MC stock Farms on April 30. There is an up­com­ing District Judg­ing Clinic be­ing hosted by the Rum­sey 4H Club de­tails will fol­low.

On June 10 there will be a 4H 100 year Cel­e­bra­tion in Row­ley. Reg­is­tra­tion be­gins at 2 pm with the pro­gram be­gin­ning at 3 pm. More de­tails to fol­low.
