I guess winter just had to have one last fling before stepping aside for Spring. We have had lots of snow, icy roads and whiteout conditions to go with it. We are fortunate compared to our neighbors in Manitoba and Saskatchewan and in a few weeks the tulips will be peeking through.
Funeral services were held on Saturday for Nick Marshall at the Delia Community Centre. Sincere sympathy to all of Nick’s family and many friends. Because of the weather conditions, some friends were unable to attend but were certainly thinking of the family that day.
Here is an exciting event you will want to attend- on Saturday, March 25, at 10:30 in the morning, the Delia Arena will be the scene of a Skating Car- nival, the theme of which will be Reality TV- uncensored, uncut and unscripted! Sounds very interesting – you won’t want to miss this one!
On Monday, March 6, a floor curling tournament was held in Castor. The Endiang floor curling club sent two teams to compete, curlers from Delia who participated in the tournament were Dave and Carol Sisley and Eva Nielsen. It was a fun day with teams coming from all over East Central Alberta, the Castor club served a delicious lunch and everyone went home with a lovely momento. Thank you Castor, for the great hospitality.
There are still a few tickets left for the Richard and Deborah music and comedy show at the Delia Drop In Centre on Wednesday, April 12 at 2 p.m. Refreshments and a time of visiting will follow the show. Tickets are available from any member of the Drop In Centre.
Law at Lunch: an enduring power of Attorney – A personal directive, A Will – A legal toolkit videoconference at the Delia Library on March 15, from noon until 1 in the library.
Leapfrog and Tadpole Story Time on Tuesday March 28 from 11 a.m until noon at the Library.
There will be a preschool library visit on Wednesday March 22 at 1 p.m. Preschool will be visiting the Library and they will be exploring Spring! If you would like help with your digital device or any or the resources offered by the library’, come chat with staff on Wednesday March 22 at 5:30 –7:30 p.m., and they will help you get started. If you have other technology related issues contact the library to see if they can help you.
A beginner’s 3D design workshop will be held at the library on Wednesday, March 29 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., bring a laptop if you have one available. Learn how to find 3D designs for 3D printing, and how to create, modify, or fix designs. Each participant can choose a design to have printed on the library 3D printer. Please contact the library to register for this work- shop. A cat’s hearing apparatus is designed to allow the human voice to easily go in one ear and out the other.
