Feet are the foundation of our lives. As we age our feet get abused with natural wear and tear and are often neglected. The elderly may suffer from painful foot joints and unusual dryness with brittle nails. Regular and proper care can prevent infections and other foot discomforts such as calluses and sores, which can lead to serious mobility issues. Foot Care clinics are offered at the Standard Senior’s center every 6 weeks. The next one will be on Thursday, March 23. For more information please contact Donna at 403 644 3849.

A friendly reminder that canvassing is getting underway for the 2017 Community Chest, a registered society with the Province of Alberta. A director will be calling for your contribution during the months of March and April, and a tax receipt will be issued. This year’s goal is to raise $25,000. When contributing, you are welcome to choose any organization on the list your Director will provide you with, or, you can provide the name of any organization you would like to donate to. Many choose the Community Chest to make their annual donations to the causes that they hold dear to their heart. Your Community Chest dollars stay as close to the local community as is possible. One cause to consider is the Standard Temporary Aid Fund, available confidentially to Community Members who are struggling due to extreme financial and/or health issues. Thank you for your continued support of the Community Chest!
