Wow that sun­shine sure feels great. Soon there will be cro­cuses pop­ping up to re­mind us of the first signs of spring.

The Mun­son 300 Raf­fle Draw lucky win­ner for March 25 was Gerri Shad­lock of Drumheller. Con­grat­u­la­tions Gerri, and thank you for buy­ing a ticket.

Any­one us­ing the hall in the next while please un­der­stand that the park­ing area is very muddy and it might be a good idea to park on the road un­til it dries and per­haps bring ex­tra shoes in case you need to walk through the mud to get to the door. Some­day soon there will be a gravel park­ing lot.

Due to low ticket sales and ex­pected low at­ten­dance it was de­cided by the Com­mit­tee that the “Wed­ding Dance” would be can­celled this Satur­day, April 1. The Mun­son and Area Com­mu­nity As­so­ci­a­tion is look­ing for ideas of what ac­tiv­i­ties peo­ple would like to see hap­pen in the com­mu­nity. Please let any of the Com­mit­tee mem­bers know of your ideas.

Dara Ku­dras from Star­land County has put to­gether a Gar­den­ing Work­shop and Tradeshow on April 8 at the Mun­son Hall. Speak­ers in­clude Donna Balzer co-host of HGTVs Bugs and Blooms, and CBC Ra­dio Host and Cal­gary Her­ald gar­den­ing colum­nist; and Dr. Ken Fry co­or­di­na­tor for Hor­ti­cul­ture En­to­mol­ogy in­struc­tor at Olds Col­lege, co-au­thor of “Gar­den Bugs of Al­berta”. Top­ics in­clude: dis­ease and pest man­age­ment and shel­ter­belt tree place­ment. There will be a hands-on ac­tiv­ity: grow your own mush­rooms. The event starts at 8:00 am – 9:00 am with a trade show, 9:30-3:30 is the work­shop. Lunch is in­cluded. To reg­is­ter please call Star­land County at 403-7723793.

The Mor­rin Lions have a busy month com­ing up with the Easter Ham Bingo on Wed­nes­day, April 12 and the big 25 year cel­e­bra­tion on Satur­day, April 8 at 7:30. There will be dis­plays, music by “The Great Plains” and some treats. Tick­ets are avail­able from the Lions mem­bers and at Moun­tain View Credit Union. This year also cel­e­brates the Lions Cen­ten­nial. Since 1917 Lions have met the needs in their com­mu­ni­ties and con­tinue to im­prove the ar­eas in which we live. We thank you for all that you do.

The Rum­sey Spring Fling and Dessert Auc­tion will take place on April 15. Mark your cal­en­dar.
