It is the time of the year for the proverbial spring cleaning and along with that usually comes reducing clutter. If this is part of your spring plan, our hamlet may have a solution for you. A plan is in the works to hold a multifamily garage sale in Craigmyle on April 22. People from both inside and outside of the hamlet are invited to take part. Those living outside of Craigmyle can participate by setting their wares up in the Craigmyle Fire Hall. All folk wishing to take part in this day need to contact Bev R (665-2237) or Bev B (665-2492) and contribute to help with the advertising. This contribution also entitles your site to be listed on a site location list to be given out to shoppers as they enter the hamlet.
This year’s Historic Society’s pumpkin fest is planned for September 9 with plans already taking place for the growing of the pumpkin “crop.” As pumpkins take up a sizeable amount of garden space and different varieties need to be planted some distance apart, the Historic Society is looking for would be gardeners who would agree to grow one variety of pumpkin. A package of pumpkin seeds will be provided and growers would be required to plant and care for the pumpkins, as well as bring them to a designated spot prior to September 9 (help could be arranged to transport the pumpkins, if needed). If you or anyone you know can find an extra spot in your garden or a corner of a field, please call Susan R (665-2270) or Bev B (665-2492) and discuss this project with them.
