Morrin Community Calendar
Hello all, it is a crispy cool calm clear blue sky Monday morning...and as I check the weather app on my phone, it looks to be a lovely warm week and then I note it shows a snowflake for Saturday. So, we may expect some snow flurries by the time the weekend comes, but I hope that changes to raindrops. We get what we get. A nice refreshing rain would clean the dust and dirt of winter away...we will see what blows our way.
And this month, in just a week and a half, we get to celebrate one of my favorites...glorious Easter. And this is the last call for the Morrin Lions Ham Easter Bingo to be held on Wednesday, April 12 at the Morrin Community Hall.
Also the Lions still have very affordable tickets available for their big 25th year-as-a-club-anniversary-music-fun night and that is coming up this Saturday evening at the Morrin Community Hall. The members have enjoyed serving our community all through the years (and hope to in the years to come) and they are counting on filling up the Hall for this joyous occasion...carry on!
And just wanted to let you all know that we have a great little Archery Range set up right here in Morrin in the old curling rink in the Arena Sportsplex and it is open from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. Memberships are available but not necessary if you want to come and try out this interesting sport. The organizers have put a lot of good work into getting this range up and running...kudos! The group is in the early planning stage to host an outdoor 3-D shoot, possibly some time in May and I will be sure to tell you soon if there is a date confirmed for that.
So, get out and enjoy the warm spring days coming our way, and a thought for the day from one of my favorite writers, C.S. Lewis... “God cannot give us happiness and peace apart from Himself because there is no such thing”. And as Easter nears, I am reminded of His goodness, love, healing, forgiveness and sacrifice to us. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him”. Romans 15:13 as quoted from the good book.
