It’s Satur­day as I write this- the first day of April and that means April Fool’s Day- I hope you didn’t get tricked too badly. It is also Clare Car­son’s birth­day, so Happy Birth­day Clare, I hope no­body played an April Fools’ joke on you on Satur­day

The art class at the Drop In Cen­tre on Wed­nes­day night brought out quite a few as­pir­ing artists, ac­tu­ally it was a lot of fun and we all learned new tech­niques and meth­ods from our new res­i­dent, Bobbi. Bobbi is a tal­ented com­mis­sioned artist who has com­pleted nu­mer­ous projects in Cal­gary. She spe­cial­izes in both oil and wa­ter paint­ing but will gladly as­sist those who choose to work with acrylics. Bob­bie will not be teach­ing a for­mal class but will be present to as­sist with tech­niques and ques­tions. All you need to bring is your paints, brushes and imag­i­na­tion. From now on art classes will be held at the Delia school on Wed­nes­days from 4 p.m. un­til 8 p.m. Ev­ery­one is wel­come, so come join us for some fun, con­ver­sa­tion, and dis­cover your hid­den tal­ent! The pan­cake break­fast, spon­sored by the Delia Elks will take place on Sun­day morn­ing, April 9, from 9 un­til noon.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to Mar­garet and John Rogers who have been blessed with a new grand­daugh­ter, Gin­erva Mae, who was born on Jan­uary 6, weigh­ing in at 6 lbs. 14 oz. Proud par­ents are Tessa and Corey Rogers. Sib­lings Athrin and Da­mon are very happy to have a new lit­tle sis­ter to cud­dle.

The com­edy/mu­si­cal show star­ring Richard and Deb­o­rah Popovich is com­ing up fast, it takes place on Wed­nes­day, April 12 at 2 p.m., at the Delia Drop In Cen­tre. Re­fresh­ments will be served af­ter the show. A few tick­ets may still be avail­able from any mem­ber of the Drop In.

The Birth­day Party at the Drop In Cen­tre for April will be held on April 19, at 2 in the af­ter­noon, with Lisa and Carol as hostesses. Come join us for a fun af­ter­noon with en­ter­tain­ment, vis­it­ing and dessert. The reg­u­lar meet­ing at the Drop In will be held on Thurs­day morn­ing, April 13, at 10 a.m.

In Li­brary news -The Spring Book Fair will be­gin with a Pre­view Day for stu­dents on Tues­day, April 4, and will con­tinue to Fri­day, April 7. The Fam­ily Event night will be Wed­nes­day, April 5, from 3:30 –6:30. Don’t for­get to bring your bal­lot to en­ter the Fam­ily Event door prize. Win $25. in books for your home li­brary and $25. in books for your class­room. Bal­lot must be de­posited by a par­ent or guardian.

The Li­brary Board an­nual meet­ing will be held on Wed­nes­day, April 5, at 7 p.m., at the li­brary. Ev­ery­one wel­come.

Leapfrog and Tad­pole preschool Story Time is at the li­brary on Tues­day, April 11 and 35, from 11 a.m. un­til noon at the li­brary.

Mak­erspace Ac­tiv­i­ties Sew Much Fun:– Shorts- on Wed­nes­day, April 5, 12, 26, at noon at the li­brary. Cup­cake dec­o­rat­ing –April 12 from 3:30 to 5 for grades 4 to adult.

Birth­day greet­ings to Clay­ton Her­zog on the 12th, Joan Mor­ri­son on the 13th and a shout out Happy Birth­day to Mar­garet Jarvis, who will be read­ing this far away in New­found­land, on the 8th of April.
