Lo­cal fire­fight­ers take on Cal­gary Stair­climb Chal­lenge for can­cer

Four of Drumheller’s finest fire­fight­ers are planning to take a step, in fact, 1,204 steps to sup­port fire­fight­ers who are bat­tling can­cer.

On Sun­day, May 7, the team is par­tic­i­pat­ing in the Fire­fighter Stair­climb Chal­lenge, hosted by the Cal­gary Fire­fight­ers Benev­o­lent So­ci­ety. Its pur­pose is to pro­vide as­sis­tance to fire­fight­ers and their fam­i­lies when they are in need.

Mitch, Merv and Kyle Smith, along with Duane Bolin will be par­tic­i­pat­ing. This means climb­ing the 1,204 steps up 775 ver­ti­cal feet in their en­tire turnout gear. This is high­est stair­climb in the world.
