Coed adult soccer ramping up
Soccer season is back and the Adult Coed recreational league is gearing up for another season.
League organizer Gavin Makse says the league is a great way to keep in shape and have fun. Adult soccer players of any experience or skill level are welcome to play. It looks like this season there will be four teams on the pitch in the popular league, one less than last season.
“We thought with the solid commitment we have from players for four teams, it would be better,” he said.
Makse adds that one of the teams will be made up of players from St. Anthony’s and DVSS with the aim of forming a combined high school team in the future.
League play will commence on April 25 with games typically on Tuesday and Thursday night, with the occasional game on Mondays. Leading up to the season, players have been playing drop-in at the Drumheller Soccer Club field on Tuesday nights. “With four teams, each team will play each other three times. So they will get nine league games and two playoff games,” said Makse.
