Orkney Oracle

The Drumheller Mail - - NEWS - Norma West 403-823-9750

Hello again and I hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter weekend. The weather was rather iffy in a lot of areas and in some just plain nasty. We were fortunate here with very little snow.

A reminder and update re: Orkney Athletic Annual Meeting. It has been changed from Wednesday to Thursday night. It seems there was a lack of information as to whether the Centre was rented for Wednesday or not. I hope everyone was notified about the change.

Mike and Judy Borwick and Donald and Sheri Mueller have returned from a 10 day tour to Iceland earlier this month. The girls were celebrating their joint birthdays on the 10th of this month. Haven’t any further details about the trip but I’m sure it was a fun and interesting time.

If you’re a hockey fan. there are some very good games to watch. It’s nice that the Ed- monton and Calgary games are on alternate nights. If you watch some of the other games going on, I guess you’ll have to choose your team to cheer for.

Easter Saturday I was at Rick and Sandy’s in Beiseker for dinner and saw all their family as well as Sandy’s sister Gloria and Dave from Strom. I was glad I decided not to drive myself as the weather was iffy so Gloria and Dave picked me up to go over and Rick drove me home. I also came home with a nice “goodie bag”/ On Sunday I was invited to go to Bill and Betty Eremko’s for another Easter dinner with most of their family. I was also fortunate to come home with another “goodie bag” so I don’t have to cook for a few days! All very appreciated and my thanks.

Dale Earnhardt from Nascar fame once said: “You can’t let one bad moment spoil a bunch of good ones.” Have a good week.
