Heartfelt sympathy of the community goes out to Vicky Siedler and family, on the sad loss of her mother after a devastating illness. God bless and comfort you, Vicky, in this sad time.
Communities in Bloom is again coordinating the annual Village Clean Up on Wednesday, May 3. We will meet at the Delia Drop In Centre on Wednesday evening, at 6 p.m., and start out from there. Everyone is encouraged to participate. The Delia 4H Beef Club is assisting and will provide refreshments at the conclusion of the clean up. See you there.
Remember the Elks Bingo every Tuesday night at the Community Centre. Doors open at 7 p.m., Bingo starts at 8 p.m. There have been some big winners lately, it could be your turn nextbut you can’t win if you don’t play!
Remember the Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast, sponsored by the Delia Elks on Sunday, May 14, from 9 to noon at the Community Centre. Give Mom a treat by taking her out for breakfast.
There is a Prairie Garden Tea at the Lilac Room on Mother’s Day weekend, May 12, 13, and 14. Checkel Green House will be present with bedding out plants, etc. also Sandi will be there to answer your gardening questions.
Remember the Amateur art sessions at the school on Wednesday afternoon from 4 to 7:30. This is just an informal painting experience, so bring your paints, etc and come join in the fun and conversation. Meet our newest resident, Miss Bobbi Hofer, a commissioned artist who has completed numerous projects in Calgary. Bobbi will not be teaching a class but will be present to assist with technique and questions. For more information you may call 403 364 2149.
The general meeting of the Delia Drop In Centre will happen on the morn- ing of Thursday, May 11, at 10 a.m. Come for coffee, stay for the meeting to hear what is happening at the Drop In Centre.
Pot Luck is on Thursday May 18, at twelve noon sharp, bring a dish and come join us for lunch. Movie night may follow at 6 p.m. if there is enough interest. Games night is the last Thursday of the month, May 25, at 7 p,m, Drop in for cards and visit with your neighbors. Admittance is only a toonie. Refreshments to follow.
Cards are played at the Drop In on Friday afternoons beginning at 1 p.m. We have had the pleasure of having Betty Clark join us for cards lately. Betty lives at New Hazelton but is in town visiting her daughter, Terry Trefz, and family.
The floor curling club from Endiang sent two teams to Stettler to compete in a bonspiel. Participants from Delia were Dave and Carol Sisley and Joan Morrison. The floor curling season is almost over for this spring, one last bonspiel was held in Endiang on April 24, with twelve teams from East Central Alberta participating. It was a fun day with lots of good food, good fun, with prizes for everyone. Thanks to the organizers, Ken and Eleanor Schultz, with the help of Dave and Carol Sisley, for a fun season of floor curling, also for the friendly hospitality that Endiang is so well known for. Thanks Endiang, it’s been a good year!
Remember the Village By-election for one councillor on Tuesday, May 16. Don’t forget to vote.
Birthday greetings in May to Jeff Andersen and Norlene Hudgeon, who share a birthday on May 1. Pat Andersen and Charlie Thompson will both be a little older on May 7, give them a birthday greeting when you meet them this week.
