Several people from Hussar and area took in the Broadway musical Cinderella at the Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary this week.
Rae-Anne, Leah and Debbie Knudsen enjoyed a nice spring getaway travelling to California from April 19-24, taking in a ball game, Disneyland, Universal Studios and a tour of Hollywood.
Katelyn, Jacquelyn and Marli Sandum have been busy with dance recitals. They participated in Stettler, Sparkle, Catch a Rising Star in Drumheller and the Drumheller Mu- sic Festival, earning silver, gold and high gold awards. Their year end recital is in Drumheller with performances on Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. They finish out their year of competitions in Camrose on Mother’s Day weekend.
The Mother’s Day tea and entertainment at the Sundowners Centre on SATURDAY, May 13 at 2 PM. The Stitch and Chat Ladies are still collecting gently used, or new purses to be filled and then donated to the Crisis Centre.
Cheryl Fisher travelled to Medicine Hat to take in the Dance Invasion where their granddaughter Tamara Scheuerman was dancing in the Jazz competition.
Jamie, Lisa and Riley spent Saturday April 29 at the WinSport Arena taking in the Championship Cup of curling. They had a great time and Riley was lucky enough to get some autographs from the curlers. They even ended up in a TV shot, probably because they were wearing jerseys from opposing teams, Riley’s team won.
Congrats to the Strathmore Venom Bantam B Team for making it to the bronze medal game at their tournament in High River this past weekend! Dayne Collett plays on that team!
Wheatland Crossing is hosting Student Conference Day on Thursday, May 4. They will begin the day with a Keynote speaker, then all of the students have been put into three different sessions and finishing with another keynote speaker. Sessions range from fine arts, to physical activities, volunteering as well as some amazing speakers with inspiring stories. This is for all students K – 12 and is sure to be a fantastic day for the staff and the students complete with a free pizza lunch.
The playground install is coming up quickly and if there is any way you can volunteer for a day or part of the day please let us know.
