I hope all you mothers had a great weekend and were treated to lots of goodies and family around to look after all your desires.
Not much news this week as all the farm folk are busy in the fields and if the weather holds, most should be finished seeding in a short time. Better off than folks in the north-east around Fort Saskatchewan country as they are now in the fields combining last year’s harvest so they can get seeding done for this year. That has happened here in earlier years but not too often.
This past weekend, I was at the Stoney Nakoda Casino west of Calgary with Ross and Allison Eremko and friends from Calgary. What a fun time although I didn’t come home a big winner. Those trips I go on are to have fun and if I win, good and if I don’t, that’s alright too. There’s still lots of snow in the mountains but it was a beautiful sight with the sun shining brightly Saturday morning and Sunday morning. A bit chilly as the wind usually blows cool off the mountains.
Glad to see the Ottawa Senators won their first game against the Pens and I hope it continues throughout the series. I’m cheering for the Predators against the Ducks and it was nice to see Kessler get a penalty in Sunday night’s game. A lot of calls missed by the refs on both sides. Aren’t armchair refs the greatest??
That seems to be it for this week. I’m expecting some of the grandkids here over the long weekend which is always fun. They do get to do some odd jobs for me to “earn their supper”. No one seems to mind which is nice. If you’re having company for the long-weekend, do have fun and enjoy it to the fullest!
