Pioneer Trail Centre

The Drumheller Mail - - AROUND TOWN - Daisie Smith 403-823-7074

The Centre was very quiet this past week. People were cleaning yards and getting their flower beds ready.

Thursday evening the Bridge club had their wind-up party for the season. They had a great time with a pot luck supper. They had a very successful year. 1st - Freda and Dan Hird (4760); 2nd - Dot Mackie and Ken Olsen (3560); 3rd - Mary and Bill Burke (3430). They will be back Thursday, September 14 to enjoy another season and will welcome new members at that time.

On Friday afternoon, Joanne Moulton and friends went to Continuing Care to entertain the residents and some of our people that were old time members of our Centre.

On Saturday we held a quilting bee. A few of our ladies were putting quilts in the frame while others were tying them. We did several quilts and had, of course, a very good visit. Lots of fun and laughter.

Thanks to all who took time to bring in their plastic grocery bags. It is very much appreciated... one more use for them before they go in the garbage.

The Pioneer singers will soon end their season for the summer. Cards and bingo will continue for the summer and coffee is always ready.

The monthly meeting will be held May 30 at 2:00 p.m. Please try to attend so you are aware of the improvements we are doing.

There isn’t much news this week. If anyone has anything they would like put in the article, please phone me.

“There is always enough to look up and thanks.” time give
