Hope your Mother’s Day weekend was special and spent with family. I had a special family weekend visiting with my oldest son who came to spend Mothers’ Day weekend with me.
Delia Gardeners must be getting impatient to get those bedding out plants in the ground, but the nights are still pretty cool and the weather man has hinted at frost, so best hold off for a while longer.
Here is a correction from an item in the column last week: The Delia United Church is still offering to pay up to half the fee for a limited number of campers for Bar Harbor Camp this summer. The contact person is now Mrs. MacDougal at the school or at 403 821 0031 if you want more information or an application form.
Remember Thursday, May 18, is potluck at the Drop In Centre at 12 noon sharp. Bring a dish and join us for lunch. Cards are played on Friday afternoon beginning at 1, right after lunch, new players are always welcome.
At the Library, Leapfrog and Tadpole Story Time on Tuesday, May 23 from 11 am until noon. There will be a preschool library visit in Wednesday, May 17, at 1 p.m., preschool will be visiting the library and exploring the topic of Spring and Blooms. TREX Art Exhibit Wind is at the library from May 18 to June 12, 2017. Wind is a touring art exhibition and includes art from Reinhold Pinter exploring the many variations of wind from gentle summer breezes to raging tornados, from whispered secrets to the distribution of ideas, and from the mythological West Wind to the Aztec deity Ehecatl.
