It is with pro­found sad­ness and sor­row that the fam­ily an­nounces the pass­ing of their beloved mother, grand­mother, great grand­mother, and sis­ter. Mrs. Eileen Emann of Drumheller passed away af­ter a coura­geous bat­tle with cancer on May 9, 2017 at the age of 78 years. Eileen was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band Leonard, her fa­ther Henry, her step fa­ther Alec, and her mother Chris­tine. She will be lov­ingly re­mem­bered by her fam­ily: 2 sons Greg (Shan­non), Darcy (Lana); 2 daugh­ters She­lene (Mario) Gi­raldi, Colleen Emann; 8 grand­chil­dren Sandi (Jason) Funk and 7 great grand­chil­dren, Megan ( Tyler) Dyck and 3 great grand­chil­dren, Thomas Emann, Joel (Molly) Emann, Ri­ley (Lind­sey) Emann and 2 great grand­chil­dren (Emily and Ma­cie), Lu­cas Gi­raldi, Karissa Gi­raldi, and Chelsey Gi­raldi. She is also sur­vived by her sis­ter Pa­tri­cia (Den­nis) Evans. Eileen was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on June 24, 1938. She met and mar­ried Len in Medicine Hat in 1956. Eileen and Len resided in Drumheller since 1968. They owned and op­er­ated Town and Coun­try Ser­vices for many years un­til Len’s death in 1991. Eileen worked for D.A.R.T.S. for 17 years where she was a re­spected and much ad­mired team mem­ber. She was also a vol­un­teer with Spe­cial Olympics for many years and en­joyed trav­el­ling with the in­di­vid­u­als. Eileen was a mem­ber of Beta Sigma Phi for many years. Spe­cial thanks go to Dr. Kuschke, and the nurses and staff at the Drumheller Hospi­tal for their out­stand­ing care of Eileen. There will be a pri­vate fam­ily ser­vice held at a later date. If friends so de­sire me­mo­rial do­na­tions may be made to the Cana­dian Cancer So­ci­ety. Court­ney-Win­ter’s Fu­neral Homes are in care of the ar­range­ments.
