Hope ev­ery­one is en­joy­ing the long week­end, it’s not of­ten we get a May long week­end with such pleas­ant weather –ideal for camp­ing and en­joy­ing the out­doors. Delia gar­den­ers are get­ting anx­ious to get those bed­ding out plants in the gar­den, but the nights are still cool and re­mem­berthis is Al­berta, frost is pos­si­ble any­time. Bet­ter wait a lit­tle while longer. Com­mu­ni­ties in Bloom re­minds gar­den­ers when plan­ning your flower dis­plays for the sum­mer, don’t for­get we’re cel­e­brat­ing Canada’s 150th birth­day.

Calling all for­mer Delia 4-H mem­bers – the Club is get­ting ready to cel­e­brate the 4-H Cen­ten­nial and needs your fam­ily 4-H his­tory for the Club dis­play. Tem­plates are avail­able at the Library or from Jan­ice Hoover. You can reach Jan­ice by email at Jan­hoover@ ne­ or phone 403 364 Satur­day, June 10 and ad­vance tick­ets are re­quired. All are wel­come to at­tend! Coun­cil­lor Fournier was held last Tues­day, and the un­of­fi­cial (as yet) re­sult showed the win­ner to be Jor­dan McNutt. Con­grat­u­la­tions to all who ran, it is a good thing to see peo­ple in­ter­ested in work­ing reg­u­lar mu­nic­i­pal elec­tion will be held in Oc­to­ber of this year. sup­posed to have been held Centre, but so much has been go­ing on at the Centre that Luck. We will re­mem­ber next month, when the pot luck lunch will take place at noon for June hap­pens on the 14th so we had bet­ter sharpen up our mem­o­ries for that as well. Oh dear, do you sup­pose we are get­ting ab­sent minded???

Re­mem­ber that the United Church in Delia is still of­fer­ing to pay up to half the fee for a lim­ited num­ber of campers wish­ing to at­tend Bar Har­bour per­son is Mrs. MacDou- gall at the school or at 403 821 0031 if you need more info or an ap­pli­ca­tion form.

Am­a­teur painters may still meet at the school from 4 un­til 7:30 on Wed­nes­days for an in­for­mal paint­ing ex­pe­ri­ence, just a re­laxed, fun time to paint and talk, ev­ery­one wel­come, tal­ent is op­tional!

Happy Birth­day to Char­lotte Hoover on the 24th, to Wendy Somers on the 26th, to Ar­lene Her­zog and Karen Hansen who share a birth­day has her spe­cial day on the 31, Deb­bie and Greg Her­zog cel­e­brate their an­niver­sary on May 29.

Quote for gar­den­ers – in or­der to live off a gar­den, you prac­ti­cally have to live in it!
