Spring has ar­rived in full bloom and the farm­ers are rac­ing to get ahead of that sea­sonal clock as they al­ready feel they are be­hind the times and the crop should be in the ground. It has been so wet and there is so much ground still sat­u­rated that those big trac­tors are sink­ing down in places where they never feared to go be­fore. I can only wish them good luck and cau­tion as they con­tinue to work long hours to get the seed planted. this month at St. Mary’s Lodge

If you hap­pen to no­tice the ac­tiv­ity up at the Rum­sey Hall over the next two weeks, it is be­cause the ren­o­va­tions on the kitchen will be get­ting un­der will be es­sen­tially gut­ting the space and cre­at­ing new work ar­eas, a brand new cooler space and lots of mod­ern op­tions to make the work of cater­ing to our many func­tions much eas­ier. bri­dal show­ers planned in the im­me­di­ate fu­ture but it should be all done by the first wed­ding of the sum­mer.

One of our lo­cal teens have been mak­ing moves in the big­ger world. Quinn Nel­son, daugh­ter of Me­lanie and Tracey Nel­son, was named one of two East Cen­tral Am­bas­sadors on May 8 in Olds at 4-H Selections. She is a long time mem­ber of the Mor­rin Multi-Club. She was also named for the time for this the 4 day event which may give her a chance at the most pres­ti­gious award 4-H has to of­fer, her two year am­bas­sador­ship, Quinn will be em­bark­ing on the North­west Ter­ri­to­ries agri­cul­ture and de­vel­op­ment tour along­side 22 other 4-H mem­bers this sum­mer from July 20 to July 30. Con­grat­u­la­tions, Quinn, I hope this brings you many great ex­pe­ri­ences and op­por­tu­ni­ties.
