What a lovely long weekend weather wise and for travelling and camping. I expect the nights might have been a little chilly in a tent, but smart campers always have extra bedding along and perhaps longjohns too.

I had a house full of company over the weekend beginning on Thursday when Matthew arrived from Weyburn and that evening Amanda brought Jayden down from Veteran. Friday Chad and Cassie arrived from Weyburn and Melissa brought Dominic from Red Deer. Saturday Braydon, Meaghan Jack and Cooper came from Airdrie for the day and had supper with the boys staying overnight so they could visit and play with the cousins. Sunday, Rick came for a short visit and Braydon and Amanda came in the afternoon to pick up her boys and take Dominic back to Red Deer. Amanda also came on Sunday to pick up Jayden and it was sort of like a come and go time, which I had trouble remembering who was coming and who was leaving. Matthew, Chad and I had a lot of very late nights and early mornings playing cards, talking and laughing. On the Saturday, Cassie’s grandparents from Camrose were here to take her hiking and sight-seeing. They were visiting Arlene’s mother Mary for the weekend so it was activity everyday. What better way to spend so much time with family?

I expect most of the farmers in Orkney were busy in the fields and weren’t entertaining very much. Hope the weather holds for them but some areas had heavy rain last week that was scattered. Orkney was by-passed and had very little.

There were lots of tourists in town and surrounding areas with the campgrounds being filled which is nice that all those folks contributed to our economic wellbeing!

Have a good week and some words of wisdom from Colin Powell: Experts often possess more data than judgment.
