A Drumheller woman’s passion of show jumping has earned her a championship at a recent event.

Jessica Syvertsen, 22, has taken a keen interest in jumping and she competed at the Bow Valley Classic, hosted by the Rocky Mountain Show Jumping earlier this month at the Anderson Ranch south of Calgary. Her father Morgan is proud of his daughter.

“It’s amazing, she has done so well. And the whole stable that she rides with placed in every single event at the show,” said Morgan, “and finally the organizer gave their coach a special award for all of her kids doing so good.”

Jessica has been riding since she was about 10.

“We found a stable near Calgary that offered lessons and she has been riding ever since,” said Morgan.

Today she trains at wood Stable near Acme.

“You go where you get the best coaching,” he said.

Jessica has another event coming up in August at Paramount Equestrian south of Calgary. This is on an international style course. East-
