What a furious storm last week! My yard is sheltered so I didn’t have any damage but there was lots of evidence of damage around town. In the Orkney area, I know the Ferguson’s had a steel bin toppled and a tree thought it would take a rest on top of the holiday trailer. There were lots of small branches and leaves strewn around too so I expect there was damage at other farms as well.
All you rodeo fans must be gearing up for the Hand Hills Stampede this weekend. What a great achieve- ment for them, 101 years! Hope the weather behaves for you.
Here’s a heads up for you Orkney folks... the Annual Sports Day will be held on June 17, as usual on Father’s Day weekend. More information will be coming soon as to events and what the menu will be for supper. Mark your schedule, agenda and datebook and we hope to see everyone there.
Was so sorry to see Ottawa lose out to the Pens but it was a well fought series and they should be proud. The Stanley Cup series starts tonight so when you read the Preds should have won game one. It has always seemed odd to me that in mid-June they are still playing hockey and by that time of year every sport known can be played. I guess nowadays it’s all sports, all year.
Have a good week and with this nice sunny weather, be sure to wear sun screen as bad burns are not fun!
