The Drumheller Mail - - NEWS -

Now the poplar fuzz is out and causing all kinds of problems for allergy sufferers. I am sure I wasn’t the only one wishing for the forecasted heavy rain that didn’t seem to materialize to take the fuzz away.

This week’s lucky winner of the Munson 300 Raffle Draw is Kevin Burfield. Congratulations and thanks for supporting the Community Association.

Just a reminder that June 13 is the Annual General Meeting for the Morrin School Parent Council at 7:00. This is your way of having a voice in what happens at your school and to have a better idea of what is happening at the school.

On Saturday, June 10 in Rowley the Drumheller and District 4H clubs will be celebrating 100 years of 4H in Alberta. The event is open to everyone. It starts at 2:00 with registration and displays. At 3:00 there will be a program, followed by Heritage and 4H games. There will be live entertainment. At 5:00 there will be pizza served and at 6:30 Blake Reid will perform. For ticket information contact Melanie Nelson at 403-772-0000.

Kids baseball is in full force right now. It can’t help but make you smile when you drive past the diamonds and see those little ones using gloves that come down to their knees. Then there are the older ball players who are so determined and dedicated to make the plays. Thanks to the coaches and volunteers that keep the sport alive.

June 5 - 11 is Seniors week. Take a few minutes to spend time with a senior you know and maybe even the ones you don’t know. They have done a lot for us over the years. Our fine country and community wouldn’t be what it is today without them and their dedication.

Speaking of Seniors there is a special senior having a big birthday party on June 24 at the Munson Community Hall. Everyone is welcome to a come and go party for Vi Adie from 1:00 - 3:00. Mrs. Adie has been a big part of the community for so many years while she taught grade 3 at Morrin School. I’m sure she would love to see all her students stop by for a visit.

Have a good week. Smile and say hello to a senior, someday if you are lucky you might be one.
