Did you see the video of the tor­nado at Three Hills? Pretty scary and too close to home. Have not heard of any re­ports of dam­age so far, hope­fully it only touched down in a field.

Last week a cel­e­bra­tion of life was held for Gor­don Roberts at the Delia Drop In Cen­tre. Gor­don was a long time res­i­dent of Delia and was greatly missed when he re­lo­cated to Drumheller, Gor­don passed away at the age of one hun­dred and one! His wife, Irene, and daugh­ter, Muriel, would like to thank the ladies at the Drop In Cen­tre for the lunch served at the me­mo­rial that day.

Lots of good things hap­pen­ing in Delia these days – there is no ex­cuse not to be busy in Delia, some­thing is al­ways hap­pen­ing in our lit­tle vil­lage! To be­gin with – a re­minder to all for­mer Delia 4-H er’s - the Club is get­ting ready to cel­e­brate the 4-H Centennial and needs your fam­ily 4-H his­tory for the Club dis­play. Tem­plates are avail­able at the Li­brary or from Jan­ice Hoover. You can reach Jan­ice by email: jan­hoover@ne­ or phone 403 364-2040. The 4-H cel­e­bra­tion is Satur­day, June 10 and ad­vance tick­ets are re­quired. All are wel­come to at­tend!

No mat­ter what you are do­ing next Satur­day, June 10, make sure you take time to visit Delia, for there are go­ing to be sev­eral garage sales go­ing on in our com­mu­nity that day! Make time to search them all- you will surely find the trea­sure you are look­ing for! Ev­ery­thing from house­hold items, yard and gar­den equip­ment, books – the list is too long to men­tion here. Come see for your­self!

A Com­mu­nity Com­mit­tee has looked at hold­ing Canada 150 cel­e­bra­tion events for our vil­lage. We are look­ing at a Canada 150 Pan­cake Break­fast in Septem­ber with a va­ri­ety of events. Then in Oc­to­ber there will be a spe­cial Canada 150 Fall Fair cel­e­bra­tion with ex­tended com­mu­nity events. We are look­ing for vol­un­teers and or­ga­ni­za­tions to make these fun filled events hap­pen and if you can con­trib­ute please free up a bit of time to at­tend a com­mu­nity meet­ing on Wed­nes­day, June 14, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. at the Delia School Lunch­room. The size and scope of events de­pends on your par­tic­i­pa­tion in this meet­ing. For fur­ther info con­tact Leah Hunter at 403 364 3777.

The Delia Li­brary is spon­sor­ing an El­der Abuse Aware­ness Walk on Wed­nes­day, June 14, at 2 p.m. They are invit­ing ev­ery­one to come out and walk for El­der Abuse Aware­ness, start­ing at the Drop In Cen­tre. The walk will end at the Delia School Playground with life­size games and watermelon. For in­for­ma­tion or to be a vol­un­teer please con­tact Leah at 403 364 3777.

Fun events at the Delia School this sum­mer!! Just to briefly men­tion a few – Se­nior High and Adult Beach Vol­ley Ball – July 13 – Au­gust 10, Coed Ju­nior High Vol­ley Ball Camp Au­gust 8 – 11, Tod­dlers Mini Sports Camp for tod­dlers 2 to 6 years in Au­gust 1- 4 at the Delia School , –Adult Coed Beach Ball – You can keep busy, keep trim and have so much fun!
