We picked about the worst day of the summer for our Community Garage Sale on Saturday – wild winds, and cold enough to snow! But how can you tell? A lot of people did brave the weather to come out and most of the garage sales went on as scheduled, prehaps we will try another day and have better luck next time.
A Community committee has looked at holding Canada 150 celebration events in our Village. They are thinking of having a Canada 150 Pancake Breakfast in September with a variety of events. Then in October there will be a special Canada 150 Fall Fair Celebration with extended community events. The committee is looking for volunteers and organizations to make these fun filled events happen, if you can contribute please free up a bit of time to attend a community meeting on Wednesday, June 14, at 7:30 p.m., at the Delia School Lunchroom. The Elder Abuse Walk will take place Wednesday afternoon, June 14, at 2 p.m., The walk will start at the Drop In Centre and end at the Delia School playground with games, watermelon, and fun.
Birthday party for members and friends at the Delia Drop In Centre on June 14, at 2 p.m., with Doreen and Eva as hostesses. Come for a fun afternoon and refreshments, everyone welcome. Potluck lunch is on at the Drop In at 12 noon on Thursday, June 15.
The Delia Library and Hanna Golden Prairie Parent Link are trying a new preschool playgroup that explores and encourages children to move and be active through play. Come enjoy being active through activities, crafts, stories and songs. Please contact Leah at 403 364 3777 or Shauna at 403 857 9553.

The Amateur Painters Group that has been having sessions at the school has been cancelled for the summer, but hopefully will resume when school starts in the Fall. It’s been fun, see you in September. For more information about this group you may call 403 364 2149.
Communities in Bloom meets this Wednesday. One of the topics for discussion is the lack of grass clippings for mulching the flower pots. If you have clean (no chickweed) clippings that you’d be willing to donate please contact Bev Hall at 364 2260.
The Delia United Church is willing to sponsor up to half the fee for children wishing to attend Bar Harbour Camp this summer. Talk to Mrs. MacDougall at the school for more information.
