Shake-up on PLRD board
There was a shake-up on the Prairie Land Regional Division (PLRD) board as one Trustee was confirmed eligible, another indicated they would be tendering their resignation.
The Mail reported in its May 31 edition that at a division meeting, the board voted to remove one of its Trustees Jada Hill for missing three consecutive meetings. According to the School Act, if the trustee could provide a medical certificate, certifying their absence, the trustee would be allowed to continue to serve.
Board chair Marsh Tkach tells The Mail that at the June 15 board meeting Trustee Hill was recognized as eligible to serve.
The meeting took a turn however as board chair Tkach noted that Trustee Dean Hansen had also missed three consecutive meetings and he has indicated to her he would be tendering his resignation. He represents Hanna Rural
“I haven’t received it yet but he indicated he will,” said Tkach.
It was also noted that a by-election would not take place as the General Municipal Election is coming up in October.
