Time Capsule suggestions welcome

The Drumheller Mail - - NEWS -

The Badlands Community Facility is currently seeking suggestions for the newly proposed time capsule.

The plan is to bury the time capsule during the Alberta Culture Days at the end of September.

“I think it’s going to be a great initiative on behalf of the Town and celebration of Canada 150,” said Darren Goldthorpe, BCF recreation manager. “Certainly when it comes time to open the time capsule, I hope the people that are present at that time are appreciative of the efforts and the ideas that have gone into it.”

At the end of August, the BCF will begin to put items of importance in it. For now, suggestions can be posted onto the Town of Drumheller Facebook page or website.

“We are certainly still encouraging people to submit them online, to the town office, or if people don’t have access to computers, they can certainly drop off their suggestions to the drop off box that’s in the library,” said Goldthorpe.

Anything from grocery flyers to video games will be up for consideration.

“We are still looking for ideas and suggestions and not all ideas and suggestions can go in there but we want to have as many to select from as possible,” said Goldthorpe.

“If people make their suggestions and they are offering to donate it too, that definitely helps the project.”
