Con­struc­tion be­gins on South Hill turn out

Con­struc­tion has be­gun on a new turnout at the base of the South Hill to keep driv­ers and vis­i­tors safe.

The Town lob­bied the pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment for changes at the iconic “Wel­come to Drumheller” sign at the base of the South Hill. This has be­come an at­trac­tion and one of the most pho­tographed places in the val­ley.

Di­rec­tor of In­fra­struc­ture Ser­vices Dar­ryl Dro­homer­ski says the crew be­gan work on the site on Tues­day.

“We signed off on the traf­fic ac­com­mo­da­tion plan,” said Dro­homer­ski.

“There is go­ing to be one lane of traf­fic go­ing down the hill just north of the ru­n­away lane. It will be well signed and the work will be go­ing on dur­ing the day.”

Crews are on­site at the base of the South Hill cre­at­ing a safe turnout at the Wel­come to Drumheller sign.
