We have had a cou­ple of re­ally nice rains this week, crops and gar­dens are per king up and it looks like the lawn may de­cide to live af­ter all. Maybe the dr ought is over , do you think?

Hope ev­ery­one is en­joy­ing a splen­did long week­end and comes home safe and happy. The Delia Com­mu­nity Cen­tre was full on Sat­ur­day af­ter­noon as fam­ily and friends of Elsie Lim­pert gath­ered for an early cel­e­bra­tion of her 85 th birth­day. Elsie, who c ame from a fam­ily of­ten chil­dren, had six chil­dren of her own, all of those peo­ple had spouses, chil­dren and grand­chil­dren, not to men­tion cousins, aunts, un­cles, neph­ews and nieces, so throw in some Delia friends and the hall was full to over­flow­ing. Con­grat­u­la­tions Elsie, it was a lovely party, we will all be around for your 100th!

The Drumheller Travel Club in­vites you to come join them on t heir next trip to the Ukrainian Cul­tural Her­itage Vil­lage-Har­vest of the Past. This will take place on Sun­day, Septem­ber 10. Cel­e­brate Al­berta’ s agri­cul­tural roots with a tra­di­tional har­vest at the Ukrainian Vil­lage. Wit­ness an old fash­ioned thresh­ing bee com­plete with vin­tage farm equip­ment and grain de­liv­er­ies to the his­toric el­e­va­tor. Other his­tor­i­cal ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude flower and herb dry­ing, feather strip­ping, mak­ing ka­pusta, grind­ing wheat, quilt­ing and can­ning pro­duce from the mu­se­ums gar­den. The bus is Lo ran Char­ters (56 seats, A/C, wash rooms ), it leaves Hanna at 5:40 a.m ., departs from Drum at 6:45 at the Sun­shine Lodge, at 7:00 a.m. from the Bad lands Fa­cil­ity, and re­turns to Drum heller at about 8:00 p.m. In Han na con­tact Pat or Mur­ray John­son, at 403 854 4695. In Dr um leave your money, phone # and name in an en­ve­lope at the BCF li­brary and a club mem­ber will con­tact you to con­firm. If you are from Delia, you can leave your name and money at the Drop In Cen­tre with Eva and I will get it to the John­son’ s. This is a spe­cial trip to re­cruit new mem­bers to the club :( must be over 18) let’s fill that bus!

Re­mem­ber to drop in to the Drop In Cen­tre in Deli a on Tues­day and Thurs­day morn­ings around 9 for cof­fee, pot luck is on Thurs­day, Au­gust 17, 12 noon sharp. Bring a dish and join us for lunch, ev­ery­one is in­vited. Stay for cards if you de­sire, or just come and visit.

Birth­day greet­ings to Nor­man Mar­shall on the 7 th of Au­gust – it was nice to see you and Sheila at Elsie’s party, glad you are look­ing well. Jackie Fried­ley is a lit­tle older on the 9 th of Au­gust, Abra­ham Yar­bor­ough will cel­e­brate an­other year on Au­gust 14, and Lloyd and Peggy An­der­son have their an­niver­sary on the 15 th of Au­gust.
