Hand Hills Grapevine
Hello Hand Hills…the dry hot spell continue here in the Hills. The harvest is going to be an early one but we are hanging in as all good seasoned farmer/ranchers do. Look out for the party when the rain does come!
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Lenfesty on their recent marriage. Wayne and Kris got “hitched” at their ranch at Sundre on July 22. On a knoll overlooking a river, these two long time friends said I Do. A barbecue on August 12 sealed the deal with friends and family. Knowing each other since the late 60’s shows that things sometimes come full circle, if one just waits. Congratulations!
Another precious baby girl has been born into the Shadlock family. Eva May Shadlock is the daughter of Sam and Tamara and is a baby sister for Cree. Congratulations are heading out to Cereal and to Margy and Lawrence just across the lake. She is a sweetheart.
I had a chance to talk with Bud Beck on Saturday. It is really bad when you have to go to Delburne to see your neighbors from the south. He wasn’t seeing anything that he wanted to buy at that Farm Sale so was heading to Three Hills for an Antique Sale. Hope you found a treasure or two Bud! Good talking to you. He says that things are really dry down his way but like all of us will just get thru it!
Speaking of the Farm Sale we came away a little more green than we are used to! Tony, yes I said Tony, bought a JD Tractor! The influence of a certain JD Mechanic is bleeding thru into our Ranch! Spencer, Spencer, Spencer! I guess we are never too old to change!
Congratulations to David and Shireylee Shields on what I am hearing was a very suc- cessful Farm Consignment Sale. I see that the driving force behind this long standing auction tradition was there. Great to see you take in the sale Merna! Plans are in the works for a Spring Auction so keep it in mind. With all those homemade pies that Shirleylee made I am sure that there will be people returning just for that special treat!
