Rumsey & District Register
I would like to send out an overdue congratulations to Claire and Derek Krywcun who were blessed with the early arrival of their baby boy, Andrew David, on August 9; 6 weeks early of his due date. He surprised everyone with his rush to join this world so he is spending a bit of time in the Red Deer hospital gaining weight for the ride home. Congratulations to grandparents Dave and Connie Swanson and Jim and Cindy Krywcun. We look forward to hearing about his arrival home to Rumsey.
Congratulation to Baylee and Cody Goddard as they exchanged nuptials this past weekend in Rumsey. The wedding ceremony was held on a scenic hillside on the Goddard Farm then the crowd moved into the Rumsey hall that had been beautifully transformed into a country palace for the bride and groom. It was a beautiful and fun wedding for all who attended. Parents Bonny and Andy Nelson and Sharon and Ken Goddard couldn’t be happier. Baylee and Cody have purchased the acreage that was once Wendy and Glen Trout’s place so we are very happy to have them as part of our community.
The St. Mary’s Lodge birthday club celebrated quite a few birthdays this month. Dariel McNaughton was the host so thank you to her for taking the time to bring in some treats and entertain the birthday guests. In Extended Care there were four birthdays; Dick Vickery, Margo Henning, Lou Frere and Audrey Smith. In the lodge, there were five birthdays; Mary Scheibler, Les Campbell, Lily Campbell, Fred Miller, Betty Miller. Septembers’ hostess will be Marilyn Olmstead. Thank you to these ladies who continue to make this happen as it is a fun day for the residents of the Lodge and Extended care.
The Garden Show will be open to the public later today starting at 4:00 p.m. with supper starting at 5:00 pm. Come and enjoy a delicious supper and take a tour of the beautiful flower arrangements and garden bounty. Also, take part in the judging of the community calendar photo contest for the Rumsey Library. I will bring you the results of the show next week.
Have a great week, everyone, and happy harvesting to those working in the field.
