WOW! Where did summer go? I hope everyone had a wonderful summer! Good luck to all the kids heading back to school. Hope everyone has a super year! Congrats to Yvonne Comstock who is the new cook at the Wheatland Crossing School. Have a super year Yvonne!
Joel, Corey, Kayla, Eric & Mary spent 10 days in July on Pend Oreille River with Jason & Lisa James, Spencer & Tori. What a wonderful place they have down there! Kayla flew home to attend Scott & Jessica’s wedding, while the rest of the crew came home via Kelowna. We were 6 days at Larry & Kim Stawnichy’s (Sandum) new place, spending the weekend with the girls so Kim & Larry could attend cousin Clayton’s wedding in Calgary. Then we continued on to overnight twice with Mitch & Rhonda out on Anstey Arm, and of course across the water to visit the Fandry, Muller, Sandum crew. We feel very lucky that Grandfather Dale was able to stay at our place to look after things (& Kayla lol) while we were gone. Home sweet home for a couple days then Corey & the girls were Saskatoon bound to celebrate Mike & Teneil’s wedding. What a great time that was too! A few days here & there to Bassano, and we have had a very busy, funfilled summer. Finally home to do some work, especially with this early harvest, and get kids ready for school. Kayla will be heading off to the University of Lethbridge to live in residence and work towards her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Studies. Good luck Kayla!

The Oster families had their Australian cousin, Danny Oster, here for a couple of days, in the middle of his trip of Western Canada and across the US. They toured Dorothy, where Danny’s mum and dad, Ed and Helen Oster, were the first ones married in the United Church. Also on the tour was Wayne, Gem, the Brooks Aquaduct, Crawling Valley Reservoir and the Bassano Dam. Jim, Jerry and Danny’s grandfather, John Oster, immigrated here in 1912 to work on the building of the Dam.

Kristen and Peter Anderson along with Tom and Angela Armstrong and Marie and Larry Faye, went to the first of the seven sold out Garth Brooks concerts. The concert was amazing! They enjoyed the show and ran into many friends and neighbors enjoying the concert also.
September 2 the Hales were off to Stavely for the Glen Keeley Memorial Bull Riding. To start the show off they had mini bronc riding. Brody scored 82 points riding The Fonz to claim the championship and his first buckle. Jayna made a great 79 point Bareback ride on Midnight Stroller to place second. Dexter is still waiting to get his cast off and get back to riding!
A big thank you to the Hussar Historical for all their work to get the History Book going! A huge thank you to Kristen Anderson who has put in hours and hours of extra work to get the ball rolling. Kristen has met with the company and the stories have been dropped off with them. Now the next stage is organizing pictures. It’s exciting because it is all coming together!
