Up in Edmonton for a meeting recently and drove past a church with the lettering on the sign out front:

"Under Same Management for over 2000 years." Before we forget, the town has done a credible job with flowers and pots, both in the downtown and along Highway 9 corridor, and a huge thanks to all who spent a good amount of time doing the watering all summer. Big job, and has to be done weekends as well. Quotables....."I found out that it's not good to talk about your troubles. Eighty per cent of the people who hear them don't care, and the other twenty per cent are glad you are having them." -Tommy LaSorda, Former L.A. Dodgers manager

Caught a bit of Ellen Degeneres' birthday show the other day on TV and we do find her both clever and witty, as she said that as you grow older you have take good care of your joints, and especially remember where you hide them...... Don't have anything to back up our thinking, but one has to wonder if former heavyweight boxer George Foreman has made more money selling his grills on TV than he ever did in the ring. Now he is back schilling for Invent Help, the outfit that helps people sell their inventions. Foreman was 45 when he won the championship over Michael Moore in 1994, but had previously beaten then undefeated Joe Frazier in 1973, for the championship.

Ron and Helen Leonhardt attended the 60th anniversary of her graduating class from University of Alberta last week-end in Edmonton. Think we remember her getting a degree in Home Economics, which has served her well over the years. Oh yes, she graduated when she was 12.
