We were away on a bit of a vacation and missed the snow storm. It looks like there are still remnants in the ditches. Hopefully all the farmers got finished up the combining, although it’s still not the end of October and we could get some decent weather yet.
The winner of the Munson 300 Raffle draw for September 30 was Peter Cardamone and for October 7 it was Dorothy Gwynn. Congratulations to you both and thank you very much for purchasing a ticket. All proceeds support the Munson and Area Community Association.
There was a good crowd at the Munson Fireman’s Breakfast on October 8, I hear the food was delicious. Good job to the firemen and ladies.
Don’t forget to mark on your calendar the Munson Turkey Supper is on October 19; and on October 27 the Munson and Area Community Association is hosting a Murder Mystery: Night of the Living Dead for more details call Dara 403-820-4563. It’s going to be a very fun evening.
Condolences of the community to the Olsen and Alen family on the passing of Maria Alen-Ludwar. Maria was a beautiful young woman and left us all too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Dave Newton of Rumsey. For many years you would see Dave walking the streets of Drumheller keep- ing his heart in shape. He was recognized by his small stature and big cowboy hat. He was a great friend to my uncle Vic during a stay in hospital as they shared a room together for several weeks. The funeral will be at the Rumsey Hall on October 12 at 2:00.
The volunteers have been busy at the Community Hall again working on sound panels which will help with the acoustics of the building. Thanks to Dave D., Marg, Krystal, Alicia, Dara, Dave V., Bill and Becky for their time.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, having time to spend with family and friends. Enjoy your week.
