Drumheller man sen­tenced for pos­ses­sion of stolen trucks

A Drumheller man was sen­tenced to five month for charges re­lated to stolen trucks in the area.

Tyree Ewing ap­peared in pro­vin­cial court in Drumheller on Fri­day, Septem­ber 15.

He pleaded guilty to a num­ber of charges re­lated to stolen ve­hi­cles re­cently in the val­ley.

On Septem­ber 2 at 7:55 a.m., Ewing was driv­ing a truck re­cently stolen from Cal­gary when he went to a lo­cal gas sta­tion and filled the truck with fuel and left with­out pay­ing.

On Mon­day, Septem­ber 4 he at­tended to a farm yard in the ru­ral vicin­ity of Drumheller.

He was driv­ing a 1975 GMC truck that had re­cently been stolen. He aban­doned this truck and took a 1991 Dodge from the farm yard. This truck be­came im­mo­bi­lized and po­lice ap­pre­hended Ewing.

These events hap­pened just days after Ewing was sen­tenced and on a pro­ba­tion or­der for sim­i­lar of­fenses.

Ewing was sen­tenced to five months in cus­tody, with 12 days of credit for time served await­ing his day in court.
