Rumsey & District Register
Welcome to November, everyone. The year has passed by quickly once again and we all start preparing for the winter season. The Fall Supper is this Saturday at the Hall so don’t forget to attend. It will start at 5:00 p.m. and serve until 7:00 so come and join us, see the new kitchen after renovations that have been completed giving the hall a bright new look.
Lois Kiemele was the hostess at St. Mary’s Lodge in October; this was her last time hosting as she has chosen to pass on her duties to someone new. She has been doing it for many years and she will be missed. Thank you Lois, for your years of commitment to the Birthday Club. If anyone is interested in becoming a part of the St. Mary’s birthday club, contact Linda Helmer at 403-368-2170 for information. The birthdays for October were Alice Raczok in Extended Care and Ruth Gordon and Marvin Restor in the Lodge, congratulations to them for celebrating another milestone. Elaine Weisse will be the hostess for November.
The Rumsey/Rowley 4-H Beef Club had their organizational meeting last Tuesday with 9 members signing up for this years’ activities. They are always open to more members until the first official weigh-day on November 12th at the Holowath farm. If you want to get in on the fun, give Jill or Kent Holowath a call at 403-368-3733 before the 12 and they can give you all the info you need.
The Christmas market is quickly picking up many vendors so it will be a fun day on November 25 for our community. We are planning to serve a light lunch and some delicious desserts throughout the day also so come in for lunch and see what is happening. The market will be open to the public from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you are interested in selling your wares, contact myself at 403368-3820, Baylee Goddard at 403-443-8384 or Claire Krywcun at 403-321-0080.
I would like to send out congratulations to Tiffany Richmond as she has completed her training as a massage therapist and with her background in kinesiology she will be your best bet for a great massage. She has set up shop in Trochu on Mondays and welcomes evening appointments if that suits your schedule better. She will also be at the Christmas market on November 25 if you want to visit with her there.
The Morrin Lions would like to extend an invitation to everyone to attend a Diabetes Awareness session at the Morrin hall on Tuesday, November 21 starting at 7:00 p.m. The theme of this years’ session will be “Food and Physical Activity”
Have a great week, everyone.
