Well, Mr. Fildebrant... since you asked
Stuffed in mailboxes last week, were Christmas cards from Strathmore-Brooks MLA Derek Fildebrant, pictured along with his family, in front of a fireplace.
Nice gesture from an elected representative to the Alberta Legislature who seems to be stepping in a lot of do-do lately, with hit-and run convictions, trespassing charges, hunting violations, and what seems to be a deliberate attempt to steal from Alberta Taxpayers by subletting his Edmonton condo on an Airbnb site and pocketing the money.
Attached to the card was a tear off portion with presumably Alberta taxpayer pre-paid postage on it, that asked the card’s recipient to comment on top issues like Taxes, Health, the debt/deficit, etc,. Also, there was space titled “Other”, followed by a few blank lines where one could write in their own comments of topics of their choosing.
This writer comments regularly on these and other topics that are fodder for any reasonable, common sense thinking taxpayer.
But since Mr. Fildebrant took the time to ask, we felt the least we could do was reply to his question on what might be bothering this Alberta taxpayer.
And, we’ll use these pages to comment, saving an already overly debted government 80 cents for the return mail reply.
Mr. Fildebrant, you have been given a rare gift by the good people of Brooks-Strathmore constituency, that of electing you to the Alberta Legislature. That gift is not yours to abuse, but to show the people of your area, and the people of Alberta that you are worthy of that gift, that vote of confidence. Until now, your infringements on the law, your actions of disrespect, your show of low morals, are an insult to even people like this writer who are not residents of your constituency, that expect high moral character from our elected representatives. You have not committed yourself to the voters who took the time to elect you, and who have a right to expect you to conduct yourself in an exemplary manner. Respect is not a right, it is earned. This is not the kind of MLA that is wanted or needed in this province. Yet you have the potential to do much good for all Albertans.
We simply suggest you get at it.
