Big Valley sparkles with holiday light.

Big Valley’s “Christmas in the Village” was a festive, family-friendly celebration of all things merry and bright.

The event, held on December 22, brought the community of Big Valley and the surrounding area together to share an old-fashioned hollyjolly Christmas.

From its humble beginnings seven years ago, this event has grown to become a cornerstone of the Big Valley holiday season.

In the hectic month of December, when people are stretched in all directions trying to balance work, family obligations and pre-Christmas preparations, “Christmas in the Village” offered the community an evening of celebration and “plain-ole” fun!

With great food, old-fashioned hay rides, hot-chocolate, bonfires, ice skating, sparkling light displays, and marvel- ous live entertainment, it was an evening for families and friends to come together and experience some free, fun and time honoured holiday traditions.

Creating that festive atmo- sphere required a team effort.

Originally sponsored by the Big Valley Rodeo Association and the Village of Big Valley, supporters now include the Big Valley Ag. Society, the Friends of the Big Valley Library, the Big Valley Ukulele Club, Rosco, the Original Cowgirls – Linda Thurston and Lori and Dallas Gordon, and numerous individual volunteers who shared their time, creative talents and abilities to bring this special event to life.

A big thank you to all.
