Mitch, Rhonda Cade and Abbey Treacy along with Shae Lane and Gun­nar Ray­croft, re­turned from a trip to Kauai, stay­ing in Poipu. Dur­ing their time on the is­land, they spent some time in the ocean, went on a Cata­ma­ran cruise, went on two spec­tac­u­lar hikes. One be­ing the Awaawa­puhi Trail by Waimea Canyon and an­other on the North shore called Hanakapi ai Falls along the Na Pali Coast. En­joyed some so­cial time with the Muller’s and Chris­tensen’s who were stay­ing nearby. Had beau­ti­ful weather and a won­der­ful time was had by all.

The Stitch and Chat ladies gave away 27 afghans of all sizes in 2017 and con­tinue to make more. Please re­mem­ber if you have wool that you aren’t us­ing and want to do­nate it to a good cause, they will surely wel­come it.

The Hus­sar Seed Plant had their sup­per at the Coun­try Farm House and Chi­nook Fi­nan­cial cel­e­brated at Russ & Kristin Fandry’s.

Corey San­dum hosted a group of ladies for her an­nual Christ­mas Craft day be­fore Christ­mas. It was a great day mak­ing or­na­ments and hav­ing a great visit with some won­der­ful ladies!

The Hus­sar Hall Main­te­nance Board would like to sin­cerely thank all the vol­un­teers that helped out with the Casino on De­cem­ber 30 and 31.

A large group of com­mu­nity mem­bers rung in the New Year at the curling club. There were lots of games played, skat­ing and vis­it­ing.

The Hus­sar Men’s Bon­spiel will start on Jan­uary 14. Con­tact Barry Kaiser to en­ter as a team or as a sin­gle.

The Hus­sar Ladies bon­spiel will be held Jan­uary 28 - Fe­bru­ary 3. Con­tact Rae-Ann Knud­sen or Wendy Kaiser to en­ter.

There will be a 70th birth­day party for Bill Arm­strong on Sun­day, Jan­uary 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A come and go get to­gether.

Last week Gor­don Schaf­fer, Brian Sayer, John Jensen and Ben Arm­strong went to Cal­gary to play in 4 card tour­na­ments. When you see John be sure to call him his new name “Bub­ble Boy”! Good time was had by all.
