Driver ar­rested for im­paired driv­ing fol­low­ing crash

A 21-year-old Drumheller man has been ar­rested for im­paired driv­ing fol­low­ing a fiery crash early Sat­ur­day morn­ing, May 12.

Emer­gency ser­vices re­sponded to the site at about 3:00 a.m. A ve­hi­cle car­ry­ing a driver and pas­sen­ger was trav­el­ling west­bound on South Di­nosaur Trail when it at­tempted to turn left on 13th Street SW, east of the Pas­sion Play site, when it lost con­trol. The ve­hi­cle col­lided with a con­crete bar­rier, a parked truck and a parked travel trailer. The ve­hi­cles caught fire.

Nei­ther the driver or pas­sen­ger were in­jured. The driver was taken to the Drumheller Health Cen­tre as a pre­cau­tion and was ar­rested for im­paired driv­ing. Charges have not yet been sworn.

Luck­ily no one was in­jured in a fiery crash early Sat­ur­day morn­ing on South Rail­way Av­enue. The driver of a truck in­volved in the col­li­sion, was ar­rested for im­paired driv­ing.
