The start up meet­ing for Rock­y­ford Mi­nor Hockey/Ringette As­so­ci­a­tion will take place on Tues­day, Septem­ber 25 at 7 p.m. up­stairs in the arena. There will be a draw for a dis­count one Hockey fee and one ringette fee. You will have to be present to par­tic­i­pate in the draw. Jer­sey fit­tings will be held on Tues­day evening, Oc­to­ber 2, 2018 for both Ringette and Hockey play­ers.

Hand in Hand Strath­more Par­ent Link is back at the Rock­y­ford Li­brary with their fan­tas­tic pro­gram, Let’s Grow To­gether. Par­ents or care­givers par­tic­i­pate with their 0-6 year old child in play, rhymes, ac­tiv­i­ties, and sto­ries. Ac­cess in­for­ma­tion and re­sources to help your child de­velop on track in the ar­eas of: fine mo­tor skills, gross mo­tor skills, prob­lem solv­ing, so­cial emo­tional de­vel­op­ment, and speech & lan­guage. This free pro­gram runs for six weeks, on Tues­day af­ter­noons from 12:45 un­til 2:15, be­gin­ning on Septem­ber 20. A big thank-you to those at Wheat­land Fam­ily & Com­mu­nity Sup­port Ser­vices, with­out whom we would not be able to of­fer this pro­gram.

You can cre­ate a “Sugar Skull” acrylic paint­ing at the Rock­y­ford Li­brary’s Paint Night in the Vil­lage, Thurs­day, Septem­ber 20, at 7:00 p.m. In­struc­tion and all sup­plies are pro­vided with regis­tra­tion. You don’t need any pre­vi­ous knowl­edge or ex­pe­ri­ence to join in the fun. Please reg­is­ter in ad­vance at the Rock­y­ford Li­brary as space is lim­ited.

Rock­y­ford Li­brary mem­ber­ships are free to pur­chase or re­new un­til De­cem­ber 31. This card gives you ac­cess to many part­ner li­braries in the Marigold Li­brary Sys­tem as well as other pub­lic li­braries and sys­tems through­out Al­berta. Bor­row books, mag­a­zines, movies, mu­sic, or ac­cess any of the nu­mer­ous data­bases avail­able to you at no ad­di­tional charge. We are lo­cated in the Com­mu­nity Cen­tre, at the north en­trance. Hours are Tues­days, noon to 6; Wed­nes­days and Thurs­days, 2 to 8.
