The dry sum­mer has caused a lack of feed due to un­der­per­form­ing hay and pas­ture land for many live­stock pro­duc­ers. The de­mand for lo­cal feed has risen the price of high­qual­ity hay lo­cally as high as $180-200 per tonne, as much of Al­berta has faced vari­able pre­cip­i­ta­tion this sea­son.
