Deep­est sym­pa­thy from the com­mu­nity to the Ma­son fam­i­lies on the pass­ing of Emma Ma­son re­cently, sin­cere con­do­lences at this very sad time.

On Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 13, the Delia Agri­cul­tural So­ci­ety will spon­sor their an­nual fall fair. Doors open at 2 noon to a va­ri­ety of ex­hibits and ac­tiv­i­ties. One spe­cial event this year will be the un­veil­ing of a sign by the Delia and District His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety and the Al­berta His­toric Re­sources Branch at 11:30 am. at the Delia Mu­seum. The sign, spon­sored by the Al­berta His­tor­i­cal Re­sources Foun­da­tion, rec­og­nizes Vi­o­let McCully Barss, who was Reeve (the ti­tle used for may­ors of Vil­lages at that time) of Delia from 1920-1922. Vi­o­let Barss be­came an in­flu­en­tial per­son in Al­berta and is men­tioned in sev­eral edi­tions of Who’s Who in Al­berta. She was an ac­tive mem­ber of the com­mu­nity and served as lo­cal health nurse for most of her life.

Re­mem­ber the Pan­cake Break­fast, spon­sored by the Delia Elks on Sun­day morn­ing, Oc­to­ber 14.

The Oc­to­ber Birth­day Party at the Delia Drop In Cen­tre was held on Wed­nes­day af­ter­noon, with eleven mem­bers at­tend­ing. Joan and Charle were hostesses for the day. Card Bingo was played with Charle call­ing cards in a most in­ter­est­ing di­alect, while Joan handed out the bingo prizes. The hostesses served a re­ally de­li­cious red vel­vet cake for dessert, Birth­day peo­ple for Au­gust, Septem­ber and Oc­to­ber were Lisa, Barb, and Eleanor The door prize , a Hal­loween dec­o­ra­tion, was won by Eleanor.

The foot nurse from Hanna, Diane McCuaig, will be at the Drop In on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 16, dur­ing cof­fee morn­ing. Stop in for cof­fee and have Diane trim your toes.

The next gen­eral meet­ing at the Drop In Cen­tre will be on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 18, fol­lowed by the pot luck lunch at noon. Come for the meet­ing and stay for pot luck.

Wal­mart will spon­sor a flu Clinic at the Com­mu­nity Cen­tre meet­ing room on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Hanna Health Unit will hold their Flu Clinic at the Drop In cen­tre on Fri­day, Novem­ber 2, from 11 un­til 2. Bring your Al­berta Health Card with you when you at­tend the flu clinic of your choice.

The Scholas­tic En­chanted For­est Book Fair is on at the Delia Li­brary Oc­to­ber 17-24 and will be on dur­ing li­brary hours. Oc­to­ber 19 is Fam­ily Event Night, when a stu­dent could win $50. in Books, $25 for your fam­ily and $25 for your child’s class­room. Oc­to­ber 24 is Li­brary Snap­shot Day, swing by to share why the li­brary is im­por­tant to you or join us at var­i­ous pro­grams,
