The Fall Supper was a huge success with over 350 people enjoying a delicious meal and wonderful company as neighbours and friends were able to catch up on the news and harvest stories in our community. Thank you to all the volunteers who brought a salad, cooked a turkey, gave of their time to slice up the turkeys, prepare the meal, clean up in the kitchen after supper, serve out the many donated pies and desserts. It was truly a community effort that came together deliciously.
The Rumsey Ag Society congratulated all our university and college bound youth as they are settling into their studies. Jackie Watts called up Serena Michie and Quinn Nelson as this years’ recipients of the Ag Society’s scholarships. They received $1000 each to help with costs. Good luck to all of our youth as they find their future careers. The next event on the Ag Society’s calendar will be the start of Super League and Open League so contact Jackie or Brooks Watts at 403-368-2357 to sign up.
The Christmas Market is quickly filling up with vendors so make sure you have a table with us for Saturday, November 24 by calling myself at 403-368-3820 or message me on Facebook. You can also call Baylee Goddard at 403443-8384. The organizers of the Annual Santa’s Christmas Party have decided to host their party in conjunction with the Christmas Market so plan to attend both fun events. The market will open at 11:00 a.m. and Santa’s party for the little ones will start at 3:00 p.m.
Diane McBride phoned me this week with some joyous news from their family. Diane and Phil’s oldest daughter, Heather, was joined in matrimony to Guy Dawson on October 26 at the Devonian Gardens in downtown Calgary. It was a beautiful setting for the ceremony surrounded by family and friends. They then enjoyed a fun supper with everyone at their favorite pizza place. Heather is currently teaching and living in Vulcan while Guy is heading out to Vancouver for work. So much for the honeymoon! Congratulations, Heather and Guy, we wish you many happy years!
Have a great week, everyone.
