Was quite a nice week this past week, really enjoyed seeing all the trick and treaters out and about enjoying themselves on Halloween. At least it wasn’t too cold that evening.
Remembrance Day Services will be held at the Carbon Community Hall on Sunday, November 11 at 10:00 a.m. This marks the 100th year Anniversary of the end of World War I.
Congratulations to Penny Ohlhauser, October winner of the Carbon Community Calendar. The 2019 issue of the Calendar is now available at the Carbon Library or Mountain View Financial.
As of today, it is only 48 days until Christmas. The Carbon Library is sponsoring the making of a Christmas centerpiece on December 4 at 6:30 p.m. Pre-register by November 26 to Renee O’Brien at 403-823-1873. The Christmas Craft Fair will be happening on November 24 at the Carbon Community Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be 30 plus tables to shop from.
Did you know that many young men from Carbon went away to serve in World War I, but not all returned. World War I started on July 28, 1914 and ended on November 11, 1918. May we always be thankful for those from our community who have served in the cause of freedom.
Happy Birthday wishes and Happy Anniversary to everyone celebrating this week.
