A 52-year-old Oh­sweken man faces a num­ber of charges af­ter a city po­lice of­fi­cer no­ticed a dam­aged val­i­da­tion sticker on a car early Sun­day morn­ing. Of­fi­cers on rou­tine pa­trol saw a car driv­ing in the area of Al­fred Street, at Col­borne Street, shortly af­ter 2:30 a.m. Po­lice saw the dam­aged sticker and stopped the driver. Po­lice dis­cov­ered the driver was suspended un­der the High­way Traf­fic Act, the ve­hi­cle per­mit had ex­pired in 2008, and the plates were not reg­is­tered to the ve­hi­cle. The of­fi­cer asked the driver for a breath sam­ple us­ing a road­side screen­ing de­vice. Po­lice say the driver refused. He has been charged with refused breath sam­ple and breach of pro­ba­tion, use plate not au­tho­rized for ve­hi­cle, drive mo­tor ve­hi­cle with­out a valid per­mit, fail to sur­ren­der per­mit for ve­hi­cle, drive while un­der sus­pen­sion, and fail to sur­ren­der in­sur­ance card.
