Po­lice seek as­sault sus­pect

Brant­ford po­lice are ask­ing for the pub­lic’s help to iden­tify a man who fol­lowed and as­saulted a 32-yearold Brant­ford woman at Shal­low Creek Park on Oct. 7. The sus­pect is de­scribed as white, in his 30s, five-foot-10 to five-foot-11, with a medium build. He has dark hair, shaved on the sides and longer on top, and was wear­ing a grey sweat­shirt, black T-shirt with red let­ter­ing, blue jeans and red run­ning shoes. Po­lice said the man struck up a con­ver­sa­tion with the woman, who was wait­ing for friends on the park, which is bounded by East Av­enue and Al­fred and Green­wich streets. When the woman be­gan to walk way, the man asked to bor­row a lighter and punched her in the arm. Any­one with in­for­ma­tion is asked to con­tact Det.
