GO­ING DIG­I­TAL The In­ter­na­tional So­ci­ety for Con­tem­po­rary Mu­sic World New Mu­sic Days event is go­ing dig­i­tal. The largest sum­mit of con­tem­po­rary mu­sic in Canada’s his­tory is try­ing to reach far across the Great White North (and even into Cal­i­for­nia) with live-view­ing events and live stream­ing. The or­ga­ni­za­tion is also cre­at­ing a be­hind-the-scenes doc­u­men­tary—a film aimed at re-cre­at­ing “a day in the life” of the fes­ti­val. Two con­certs will of­fer view­ing events: New Vis­tas—van­cou­ver Cham­ber Choir and mu­sica in­tima with guest Elek­tra Women’s Choir hap­pens Satur­day (Novem­ber 4) at 3 p.m. Pa­cific time; then En­sem­ble Con­tem­po­rain de Mon­tréal (ECM+, shown here) and Turn­ing Point En­sem­ble hit the in­ter­web on Mon­day (Novem­ber 6) at 7:30 p.m. See iscm2017.ca/ for de­tails on these and other live-view­ing events be­ing held from Man­i­toba to San Francisco.
