Summerstown is a small village on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. 1862 maps show the Summers family as storekeepers and land owners in the area. Summerstown is well-known to residents and cottagers for its summer fun. Driving along County Road 2 you’ll find campgrounds, golf courses, marinas and a place to dine.
A popular attraction is Cooper Marsh Conservation Area. Incorporating marshland, treed swamp, upland meadows, forested area, wildflower fields, isolated ponds, streams and agricultural land seeded with lure crops for waterfowl, Cooper Marsh has something for everyone including a visitors’ centre. The 7 km of trails, viewing tower and picnic area with shelter make it convenient for families to enjoy a full day of activity.
