Looking forward to judgement days
For many local 4-H club members, the highlights of summer are the opportunities they get to participate in livestock shows at area fairs.
Exhibition season kicks off in this district with the Maxville Fair that this year will be held from June 26 to 28.
One of the big events is the 4-H showmanship competition, held in conjunction with the Holstein show. The 4-H contest will be held June 27. Visit www.maxvillefair.ca for more information on the 2015 program. In early August, all roads lead to Williamstown, where the oldest fair in Canada takes place August 7 to 9. Highlighted on the calendar is the Glengarry 4-H Dairy Show which will take place August 7. Ribbons and rosettes will be awarded in several divisions. In addition to showmanship, there will be classes for various breeds including Ayrshire, Jersey and Holsteins.
Throughout the exhibition there will also be 4-H demonstrations and displays.
