Fantastic Craft Fair improves with age
The Fantastic Vankleek Hill Christmas Craft Fair, Phil Arber contends, is simply the best in Eastern Ontario.
And many consumers would agree with him.
Described as the oldest continual arts and crafts show in the district, the fair has “evolved through reverse osmosis,” says Mr. Arber.
The high quality of wares has been main- tained because vendors are vetted. They must make what they sell and certain standards must be respected. Since vendors gear their products to the tastes of shoppers, the Vankleek Hill event has retained its popularity. “The crafters who will attend six to eight other events will tell you that Vankleek Hill is still the best in terms of quality and sales,” states Mr. Arber.
The 35th edition of the fair will be held at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre November 25, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., November 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and November 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
People are encouraged to bring a donation for the food bank.
Some 23 stalls have been rented for the 2016 edition. “I never had empty spaces. I have a long waiting list of vendors who want to take part.”
